Specialist SEND Tutor - Maths and English - Sefton

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a compassionate and creative Specialist SEND Tutor to deliver tailored Maths and English tuition to pupils in the Sefton area. The successful candidate will support learners who may find mainstream education challenging, helping them re-engage with learning in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalised, 1:1 Maths and English sessions.
Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.
Support pupils with complex needs, SEND and barriers to education.
Develop functional literacy, numeracy and independent learning skills.
Monitor progress and maintain appropriate records.
Hours: approximately 5-15 hours per week, depending on the placement.
Start: ASAP.
Duration: ongoing, subject to placement requirements.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification, where required for the placement.
Experience working with pupils with complex needs.
Experience supporting SEND learners or disengaged pupils.
UK classroom teaching or tutoring experience.
A creative, patient approach and willingness to think outside the box.

Essential Requirements:
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS with Children''s Barred List clearance, or willingness to obtain the required clearance.
Two professional references.
