Specialist SEND Support Practitioner (PMLD and Complex Needs) Location: North London Salary: 18-23 Pounds per hour (Depending On Your experience0 Hours: Full-Time Contract Type: Temp About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Specialist SEND Support Practitioner to support learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), complex medical needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and autism. This is a specialist role requiring an individual who is trained and competent in personal care, manual handling, medication administration, and PEG feeding. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families to deliver outstanding learner-centred support that enables students to thrive and achieve their individual outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide specialist support to learners with PMLD and complex SEND needs. Deliver high-quality personal care whilst maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect. Administer prescribed medication in line with healthcare plans and organisational procedures. Support learners who require PEG feeding and other specialist healthcare interventions. Undertake manual handling duties, including the safe use of hoists, slings, wheelchairs, standing frames, and specialist equipment. Support learners with communication needs using approaches such as Makaton, PECS, AAC, and Intensive Interaction where appropriate.
