Specialist Podiatrist

Overview

We have a position available for a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist. We will also consider newer graduates wishing to develop into the post. This is a Golden Hello eligible role with a payment of £2000 (£1000 upon commencement and a further £1000 after successful completion of 6 months probation), provided eligibility terms are met.CSH Surrey is part of the NHS and is Surrey’s longest established NHS community services provider. The role is located in NW Surrey with access to London and outdoor spaces. Newly qualified applicants will start at Band 5 on the Band 5 pay scale; progression to Band 6 is possible over 12 months conditional on completing the developmental programme.CSH is employee-owned, offering opportunities to influence change and a focus on excellence in care to deliver better outcomes for service users.Responsibilities

Provide a highly effective, comprehensive foot health and protection service for the population of CSH Surrey, across multiple clinical sites including patient homes.Assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide podiatric treatments using evidence-based practice; emphasise patient empowerment and independence through education.Work as an autonomous clinician within guidelines, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and advising patients, carers, GPs and other health professionals.Maintain clear, comprehensive records; participate in clinical rotations and clinical supervision; engage in CPD and mandatory training; contribute to professional development reviews.Communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives, GPs and other health professionals; participate in health promotion and education activities.Manage a domiciliary caseload; ensure quality patient care across diverse sites such as homes, clinics and community settings; assess risks and obtain informed consent.Undertake diagnostic procedures, wound management, and minor surgical interventions as appropriate; conduct biomechanical assessments and prescribe/dispense orthotics where required.Teach and assess students, newly qualified podiatrists and podiatry assistants; participate in clinical governance and audit activities; maintain professional portfolio and CPD hours.Qualifications
