Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to join the National Spinal Injuries Centre Team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with spinal cord injuries and complex needs, working as an autonomous practitioner within the specialist clinical and interdisciplinary team. You will provide advice, guidance and information to healthcare professionals, carers, relatives and other relevant individuals, while contributing to the ongoing development of clinical services and wider organisational objectives. Main duties of the job As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for applying advanced clinical reasoning to interpret complex clinical and non-clinical information and support accurate diagnosis across a range of conditions associated with spinal cord injury. You will use evidence-based knowledge to formulate detailed problem lists, establish appropriate treatment goals and select relevant outcome measures. You will apply a highly developed range of therapeutic techniques and intervention strategies, adapting these according to individual clinical findings and responses. You will also undertake advanced, comprehensive and, where appropriate, standardised assessments for patients with complex and diverse presentations, seeking specialist guidance where required.
