Job Summary
Specialist pharmacist, Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew''s Hospital. Band 7. Hours: 37.5 a week. Fixed term 12 months. This is an exciting role supporting the development of a world class pharmacy service within the Barts Heart and Thorax Centre and across the cardiovascular CAG. This fixed term opportunity will support the provision of a 7-day clinical pharmacy service to several cardiac specialties, cardiology, cardiothoracic, GUCH, pre-admission clinics and primary care work. You will encounter opportunities for personal development as our cardiac services merge into a single, world class integrated cardiovascular centre. You will work closely with medical and nursing staff on a wide range of medicines management matters to optimise medicines use within the trust for patients with cardiovascular disease.Main duties
Support the lead pharmacist for cardiovascular services in providing responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing within the networks.Optimise patient outcomes, minimise adverse reactions, and improve medicines safety.Deliver the broader Medicines Optimisation and Governance Strategy across the Trust, primarily through leadership of clinical staff and the publication and implementation of guidelines and procedures to encourage best practice.About Us
