The role involves providing expert support and guidance on the electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) system, ensuring safe and effective use within the Trust.To work with clinicians to develop treatment protocols, input and test them prior to implementation, linking with Medicines Information, Medication Safety Committee and the Drug and Therapeutics Committee as required.To actively support the ePR Programme with any ePR projects, including the roll out of ePMA to new areas by undertaking duties relating to training staff and floor-walking during go-live - this will include some non-standard shifts and weekend working as part of a team of ePR floorwalkers.To contribute to the development of the ePMA system by identifying areas that can enhance clinical practice.About us

The Job Description and Person Specification are attached to this job, please review for the full details and responsibilitiesePMA and Pharmacy SystemsTo be the first port of call for providing highly specialised ePMA information, advice and support to ePMA usersTo write and implement standard operating procedures relevant to ePMA use within the TrustTo ensure that any clinical and medicines management risks associated with the ePMA system are identified, recorded and managed to minimise risks to patientsTo build database drug files for ePMA and ensure the correct links are implemented within the system to ensure the system alerts are accurateTo work with clinicians to develop treatment protocols and input and test them prior to implementation, linking with Medicines Information, Medication Safety Committee and the Drug and Therapeutics Committee as requiredPerson Specification

Experience

Post-registration hospital experience as a clinical pharmacist in a range of clinical specialitiesEvidence of working with Information Technology SystemsEvidence of influencing members of the multidisciplinary team in delivering patient careExperience of supervising and training staffProficient in the use of the System C Stock Control System (formerly known as JAC)Experience of electronic prescribing systemsExperience of project managementClinical ward pharmacy experienceQualifications

Pharmacy degree (Masters level)Registration with the GPhCPost graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalentPost graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalentKnowledge

Up to date clinical and pharmaceutical knowledgeComputer literate with knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel (or equivalent IT systems)Knowledge and awareness of implications of current developments in pharmacy practice and NHS strategiesUnderstanding of National IT projects and objectives related to healthcarePersonal Skills

Enthusiastic about development of ePMA systemsOrganised and able to plan and manage work programmesWell-developed written and verbal communication skillsAbility to be able to travel between sitesConfidence to deal at consultant/ senior manager levelActive involvement in supporting implementation of service developmentsDisclosure and Barring Service Check
