Specialist Occupational Therapist NSIC

Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Occupational Therapist in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to join the National Spinal Injuries Centre Team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will be responsible for assessing, treating and evaluating patients with spinal cord injuries and complex needs, working as an autonomous practitioner within a specialist multidisciplinary team. You will provide expert advice, guidance and information to healthcare professionals, social care colleagues, carers and relatives, while supporting ongoing clinical and service development and contributing to wider organisational objectives. Main duties of the job As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for contributing to the effective functioning of the Occupational Therapy and wider interdisciplinary teams. You will undertake specialised, comprehensive and standardised assessments for individuals presenting with complex and diverse needs. You will apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to identify appropriate therapeutic approaches and formulate individualised treatment plans using a wide range of intervention options. You will analyse and interpret both clinical and non-clinical information to develop accurate and holistic assessments, working under the guidance of Advanced Occupational Therapists where appropriate.
