Specialist Mental Health Mentor: Flexible, Hybrid Role Supporting UK University Students

Randstad Student Support is actively recruiting highly motivated Specialist Mentors to work with students who have disabilities or mental health conditions at Universities and Colleges. You will serve as a trusted advisor, supporting students throughout the academic year (starting at the new academic year/September), helping them reflect on their study experiences and implement strategies to overcome barriers.

Your Role in Student Success (1-to-1 Support):

You will empower students to build confidence and become independent learners by focusing on key development areas:

  • Creating effective strategies for organisation and time management.Breaking down academic tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Helping students achieve a healthy balance between their study commitments and daily living.
  • Introducing management techniques for anxiety, stress, or low mood, and preparing them for new experiences.
  • Building on personal strengths to promote self-sufficiency.

Essential Role Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to local university or college sites to offer required in-person sessions.
  • Commitment to acting professionally, maintaining confidentiality, and addressing all concerns promptly.

  • Proven experience working with clients who have disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload of students.
  • Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, and professional conduct.
