Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Special needs teaching assistant We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team supporting a range of schools across South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. This role involves working with children and young people with diverse special educational needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, social/emotional challenges, and learning difficulties. You will help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive. As placements may vary, you must be willing and able to travel between different schools as required.Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with SEN in both mainstream and specialist settings. Assist in implementing personalised learning plans, behaviour strategies, and intervention programmes. Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs. Support pupils with social, emotional, and communication development. Maintain accurate records of progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where appropriate. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times. Requirements Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable).
