A specialist SEMH provision in Bromley is seeking a resilient, proactive, and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, often linked to trauma, anxiety, autism, ADHD, or behavioural challenges.This is a rewarding and impactful role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to helping young people succeed-academically, emotionally, and socially.The Role:Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and associated needsBuild consistent, trusting relationships with students who may display challenging behaviourSupport teaching staff in delivering personalised and therapeutic learning plansHelp manage behaviour calmly and constructively, using de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategiesEncourage pupils to develop self-confidence, independence, and positive coping mechanismsContribute to a safe, structured, and emotionally supportive school environmentThe idea Special Needs Teaching Assistant will have:Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or behavioural difficultiesA calm, non-judgmental approach and the emotional resilience to work with pupils facing complex challengesExcellent communication and teamwork skillsThe ability to model appropriate behaviour and set clear boundariesA commitment to inclusion, equality, and trauma-informed practiceQualifications such as Team Teach, MAPA, or a ..... full job details .....
