Special Needs Teaching Assistant

A Special school in Haringey is looking for a teaching assistant to join their team to work in a class of 7 pupils aged 11-14 years of age. The pupils have a range of complex needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.Some pupils are non-verbal and use PECS and Makaton to communicate, so experience or knowledge in these areas is required. Having a certificate in Team Teach (positive handling) is highly desired too in the successful teaching assistant.
