Special needs teacher

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality teaching and support to students with a range of special educational needs, including ADHD, non-verbal and verbal communication, personal care, and physical/sensory disabilities.

• Work primarily with secondary-aged students (ages 11-19), though there will also be some students between 4-19 years old.

• Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the individual needs of each student.

• Ensure that students receive appropriate support for personal care and assist with any physical or sensory needs they may have.

• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and progress.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications.

• Experience working with students with a range of SEN, including ADHD, non-verbal communication, personal care, and physical/sensory disabilities.

• Serious and long-term commitment to the role, as we are seeking someone who is prepared to stay in the position due to the severity of the students'' needs.

• Full-time availability (5 days per week) for the duration of the maternity cover.

• The school is located in a central area with no parking available, so the ideal candidate will live locally or be willing to commute via public transport.
