Special Needs Teacher

Term Time Teachers have teamed up with a SEMH school in Sevenoaks to recruit an experienced and passionate Special Needs Teacher. This is a full time permanent role beginning January 2025.

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will create tailored lessons for students with a range of special educational needs. You''ll work closely with colleagues to build an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities as a Special Needs Teacher:

• Creating and delivering lessons tailored to the unique needs of students with special educational needs.
• Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, particularly for students with challenging behaviour.
• Offering one-on-one or group support for students who require additional assistance, helping them develop academic, social, and emotional skills.
• Regularly communicating with parents, guardians, and other professionals (eg. therapists) to discuss students'' progression, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Requirements:

• Hold QTS
• Knowledge and understanding of a range of special educational needs.
• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be happy to apply.
• Be able to provide two references within the last 2 years.
