Prospero are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to work within a secondary school in the Southport area to cover maternity leave. Please see below for further details:

Spanish Teacher

• Location - Southport, PR8
• Position - Spanish Teacher
• Start date - April 2026
• Full time/part time - Full time, covering maternity leave
• Minimum rate of pay - Paid to scale
• Hours - 8:00 am - 16:00 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing lesson plans aligned with standards, teaching grammar, and vocabulary
• Setting and marking classwork, homework, and exams; tracking progress to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintaining a positive, encouraging and safe environment.
• Reporting progress to parents, attending staff meetings, and collaborating with departments.
• Staying current with teaching techniques and curriculum changes.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency in Spanish
• Teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Previous experience working with young people in a school setting
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional references/cover 24 months worked
