We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join the team at a prestigious independent school near Buckingham, working with an established contract catering operator.

The Role

Working alongside the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to deliver consistently high standards across a busy school catering operation.

You will be involved in:

Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Preparing and producing fresh, high-quality food
Leading and developing the kitchen team during service
Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health andamp; safety and presentation standards
Supporting menu planning and seasonal food development
Managing stock, ordering and controlling waste
Ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and within budget
Maintaining a positive and professional team environment

About You

We are looking for a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef with a genuine passion for food and the ability to lead by example.

You will ideally have experience within contract catering, education, hotels or high-quality restaurants, with strong technical skills and an organised, hands-on approach.

Experience of working within an independent school environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
