WSP .WSP is looking for an experienced Solutions Consultant to join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We provide technical professional services to transport clients throughout the UK and overseas to deliver tangible value through technology enabled change. You will play a key role in technical delivery while leading tasks within a team to provide quality assurance, consultancy, and advisory services on client-facing projects.Join us and make a real-world difference by helping to deliver crucial projects for public sector clients, such as using big data to help the DfT provide better rail services, visualising accident data geospatially, or gathering vital transport planning data using AI-enabled traffic cameras that distinguish and count the different modes of transport. You will have access to targeted professional development and training to grow and develop at WSP.
What you will do
Act as a technical lead during client engagements, providing credible insights and practical solutions to complex software and data challenges.Estimate, design, build and deliver software solutions using industry best practices.Perform quality assurance reviews of project documentation or consultancy deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with client requirements.Support and maintain new and legacy software systems, ensuring timely and effective resolutions with clear stakeholder communication.Provide consultancy and advisory services, guiding clients on best practices for cloud data architecture and software solutions.Contribute to continuous improvement of practice and standards within the team.Contribute to future technical strategy of the team.
What we are looking for you to demonstrate
Experience building enterprise-level web applications or services, predominantly using ASP .Net and Azure, supported by relevant certifications and qualifications.Experience with Python would be beneficial.Excellent analytical skills with ability to think creatively to solve problems.Strong experience in an Agile delivery team and in developing/deploying applications using DevOps practices in a production CI/CD environment.Demonstrable experience of testing across end-to-end lifecycle, including ETL, Unit, and Regression testing.Strong technical leadership skills and ability to lead and collaborate with other developers and teams to achieve project goals.Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with clients to provide credible insights and guidance.Expertise in quality assurance activities and guidance on best practices for cloud data architecture and software solutions.A degree in an analytical discipline (engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, social sciences) or equivalent industry experience.

We operate a hybrid working policy and expect colleagues to spend time on client sites and collaborating with colleagues face-to-face, as well as working from a local office. We have offices across the UK.
