We have a global membership who have designed many of the world''s iconic structures as well as many of the buildings and bridges we take almost for granted in our daily lives. Creating safer structures for the benefit of the public is at the heart of our remit, and this includes environmental sustainability, with structural engineers and the Institution at the heart of the impact construction has on natural resources and climate change. Many of our members work to support the world''s most vulnerable communities, especially those living in places prone to natural hazards such as earthquakes and extreme flooding.
