Solutions Architect (Software and Networks) 6-Month contract, extension possible £525 p/d (Outside) Overview We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to support a large-scale public sector digital transformation programme, replacing legacy processes with a modern, nationally used digital service. Role The role requires a strong balance of AWS network architecture and distributed software design. You will shape secure connectivity between internet-facing cloud services, private networks and external systems, while also guiding the design of a headless, API-first platform built using .NET, AWS and event-driven services. Required Experience: AWS network architecture, hybrid connectivity, VPNs, firewalls, routing, segmentation, encryption and secure service exposure. Distributed and event-driven systems, service decomposition, bounded contexts and API-led integration. Messaging reliability, failure handling, state management and independently deployable services. Architecture documentation, decision records and formal security assurance. Confident communication with engineering teams, suppliers, programme leadership and governance stakeholders. Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team. Experience within regulated or public sector environments, Public sector networks knowledge (SWAN, HSCN, JANET, PSN etc.) PKI, digital signing, .NET messaging frameworks or AWS managed services would be advantageous.
