This is a strategic leadership role where you''ll drive both technical innovation and business transformation in one of the world''s most significant gaming markets.

You''ll work with Japan''s leading gaming companies - from major publishers to emerging studios - helping them leverage AWS solutions throughout their game development lifecycle. As a key influencer in the Japanese gaming ecosystem, you''ll shape how games are developed, operated, and delivered to players worldwide. Additionally, you''ll support Japanese gaming companies in their business expansion beyond traditional gaming sectors, helping them leverage their technological capabilities and expertise to create new business opportunities across different industries.

This role requires deep understanding of both technical architecture and Japanese gaming business dynamics, combining strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership. You''ll build and lead a team of solutions architects while serving as AWS''s primary technical advisor to Japanese gaming industry executives. The role involves regular engagement with executives from Japanese gaming companies and collaboration with global AWS teams and stakeholders. You''ll participate in regular business reviews and technical discussions with customer leadership teams, and travel within Japan and internationally for customer engagements, industry events, and technical presentations.

Key job responsibilities- Drive strategic technical initiatives with major Japanese gaming companies through regular business reviews and technical discussions- Lead and mentor a team of gaming-focused solutions architects to deliver impactful customer outcomes- Establish and maintain regular cadence with C-level executives and technical leaders at key gaming companies- Lead technical and business discussions with multiple stakeholders across global organizations- Participate in global gaming initiatives and represent Japanese market requirements to worldwide AWS teams

A day in the lifeAs a Game Solutions Architecture Manager, you will lead a team of technical professionals working at the intersection of AWS technology and the gaming industry. Your role combines technical leadership with strategic people management and executive engagement.

You''ll oversee your team''s diverse technical activities, from architecting new game titles and implementing the latest solutions using generative AI, to tackling business challenges such as international game expansion and LiveOps KPI optimization. Through regular 1on1s and business reviews, you''ll provide technical mentorship, track project progress, and ensure both team growth and customer success.

Your role includes significant executive engagement, collaborating with customer leadership to shape technical strategies and demonstrate AWS''s value proposition. Working closely with overseas product development teams, you''ll help amplify insights from Japanese gaming customers to a global audience, while enabling cross-industry knowledge sharing in areas such as security, containerization, and machine learning.

The position requires flexibility to accommodate the gaming industry''s dynamic nature, balancing online meetings, on-site customer engagements, and team management activities. You''ll build and maintain extensive communication networks both within AWS and with customers, fostering an environment where innovation and collaboration thrive.
