The role also offers the opportunity to collaborate across the broader Commercial Property team as needed.This is a fast-paced role within a large team and the successful candidate will have exposure to clients on a regular basis.The wider Real Estate practice at Brodies is top ranked by the independent legal directories Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 and is regarded by market commentators as the leading practice in the Scottish market in recent years.The role holder will gain a varied and interesting commercial property experience ranging from:Acting as advisor to an exciting array of public sector clientsSupporting the practice area''s engagement with the firm''s GBT which will include cross-selling activities in the public and business sectorsComprising a key part of the team handling estate management work for public sector clients and leasing and conveyancing servicesBuilding and maintaining client and agent relationshipsInitiation of and participation in business development activities of the practice area and firm with a focus on the public sectorUltimately you will become a key team member of Scotland''s biggest real estate practice and be available to assist the wider real estate practice area in completing some of the biggest and most high-profile property projects north of the border.CORE TASKSYou will have a vital role in a busy team that lets you learn from and with your colleagues and be involved in transactions from an early stageNegotiating and implementing the full spectrum of contractual documents for development sites (principally public sector projects)You will gain an in depth understanding of the sectors our clients are working in, from both a legal and commercial perspective. As part of that, you will develop sector specific vital knowhow across the public sectorReview, analyse and report on titles and you will be encouraged to develop a highly commercial approach to the advice you provideYou will become a valued advisor to busy property professionals who look to you for quick solutions to ensure they meet their targets.Involvement in business development activities and firm initiativesYou will be encouraged and helped to build your network of contacts, to contribute to the firm both formally and informally, and to develop your career path.Be aware of Brodies'' information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times.PERSON SPECIFICATIONAn interest in the property industry and its drivers and to show initiative in furthering your understanding of the property industryEnthusiasm and a desire to learn, quick thinking and commercial pragmatismGood attention to detail but an ability to keep a commercial perspectiveA positive, can-do attitudeA desire to speak to people, to pick up the phone and not hide behind emailsThe ability to adapt in a fast-paced working environment.SKILLSSelf-motivated and drivenPrepared, organised and able to prioritiseApplied knowledgeCommercial and profit focusConduct and communication skills.If you have any queries regarding this role, please contact
