Job Title: Solar Design Engineer

Location: Hull (1 mile out, End of M62) - must be within 1 hour''s drive

Employment Type: Full-time, 5 days a week

Salary: -40,000 - -50,000 per annum (dependent on experience and proposal capability)

We are seeking a skilled Solar Designer with experience in preparing proposals and system designs for solar PV projects. This position requires strong technical ability alongside the capability to produce clear, professional, client-facing proposals. Applicants with both design and proposal experience will be offered the higher end of the salary range.

• Prepare detailed solar PV system designs using PVSYST and SolarEdge Designer
• Create and update electrical building drawings in AutoCAD
• Utilise Trimble and other design tools to ensure accurate layouts and integration
• Produce accurate and well-presented client proposals and supporting documents
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, technical requirements, and health & safety regulations
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to support project delivery
• Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reports, schedules, and presentations

• Proven experience in solar PV system design
• Proficiency in PVSYST, SolarEdge Designer, AutoCAD (electrical), Trimble, and Microsoft Office
• Strong proposal writing and presentation skills (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must live within a 1-hour commute of Hull (HU postcode, near M62)

• Salary of -40,000 - -50,000 per annum, dependent on experience and proposal ability
• Full-time, permanent role - Monday to Friday
