KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions is recruiting a Software Test Engineer for a client developing a market leading medical device at their site in Motherwell.

The role:

This is a hands-on software testing position covering both Python test automation and manual testing. The ideal person can write automated tests in Python and is happy to carry out manual testing when automation isn''t possible - including GUI testing directly on the device.

However, if you are a pure Python test automation engineer, or a pure manual test engineer with embedded software or device testing experience, you will still be considered - the task work can be managed around your strengths.

You''ll be working in a regulated medical environment, so keeping good test records and working within a QMS will be part of day-to-day life.

What you''ll need:

• Strong software testing experience on embedded software or a physical device (e.g. mobile devices, smart meters, handheld/touchscreen products)
• Python test automation experience, manual testing experience, or ideally both
• Background in a safety-critical or regulated sector - medical, automotive, aerospace, defence, finance, or oil & gas
• Understanding of working within a QMS with good record-keeping
• Happy to be onsite in Motherwell 3 days per week (flexibility available on how these are arranged, e.g. week on/week off)

Desirable:

• Medical device testing experience
• Some cybersecurity testing exposure
• Familiarity with test management tools such as Jama, Codebeamer, TestLink, HP ALM or DOORS

The details:

• 6 month initial contract, with a strong likelihood of extension
• Up to -68 per hour, Inside IR35
• One-stage interview. This can be arranged quickly
