We work in tribes and squads that focus on specific products and projects.Job Responsibilities:Work with the Product team to understand user’s needs and follow an Agile SDLC to develop and deliver product features to the Nutmeg Webapp.Take ownership of tasks from the estimation stage right through until the release stage and post productionIdentify, troubleshoot and resolve existing or newly-identified prioritised defectsWrite tests for all code you deliver and adhere to best practices/standards, ensuring high-quality codeParticipate in code reviews, ensuring high code quality and continuous development and learning for yourself and your colleaguesBe someone who enjoys knowledge sharing, who is keen to attend and participate in some of the many skill share sessions we regularly hold in the Web team and across the wider Engineering department.Propose/contribute/collaborate on Technical Initiatives - improving and evolving the existing codebase and toolsetBe keen to ensure that we focus on solving the essence of the problem rather than merely dealing with the symptomsConsider Accessibility (WCAG), Security, Observability and Performance as part of all owned applications/deliverables.Required qualifications, capabilities and skillsEnglish working proficiency is a must, you will be working with the team in LondonProven track record of building and maintaining customer-centric web applications/SPAs.Strong proficiency in React and its core principlesSolid grasp of Web fundamentals:HTML5 (Semantics and Structure)CSS (Responsive Design, Specificity)JavaScript ES6General Networking (HTTP, IP and DNS, Caching)Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, RTL, Cypress or PlaywrightUnderstanding of build tools such as Webpack, Vite, Parcel.Understanding of Pre-processors such as SASS, CSS Modules, JS Compilation.Understanding of CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and Github Actions.Experience with monitoring and alerting in order to maintain a production applicationGood understanding of REST and what it means to work with APIsGood communication skills, you can work well within a delivery team and manage interactions with other parts of the organisation, such as Product and OperationsCurious about new ways of working and open to different approaches and ideas.A passion for self-development and learning who keeps up to date with the latest Web/React trends and technologies.Proactive and willing to help others put forward ideasPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skills- nice to havesExperience with Typescript, GraphQL or AWSKnowledge of other JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Vue, Next.js, Gatsby.Experience with feature flagging/AB testingExperience with Design systems (UI Development, White-labelling)Experience in the FinTech sectorShow us your Github/Stack Overflow/app portfolio!#ICBCareers ..... full job details .....
