Software Development Manager, Amazon Payment Services

APS ( Amazon Payment Service) is looking for a talented and experienced Software Development Manager to drive new initiatives from scratch across cross functional teams and to rollout business transformational programs. In this role, the SDM will build and grow a team of SDEs. The SDM and his team will work with Senior SDEs, PEs, Product Managers, Risk Managers, TPMs and Senior Leadership to design, develop and deliver results while fostering inputs and participation from all levels of the organization.You should be someone who wants to conceive and design highly secure, scalable, and robust software to address opportunities in the payments industry through cloud computing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the tech industry with focus on distributed systems, web services, and high availability production systems.Key job responsibilities

Work with software engineers, TPM and Product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide new products from scratch.Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.Plan projects and features, manage stakeholders and track external commitments.Maintain operational excellence - monitoring, alarming, and managing of incidents in production services.Hire, build, and grow a team of strong software developer engineers and maintain the high performance bar.About the team

3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of engineering experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
