Social Worker
Luton Locum £38.84 per hour Hybrid Working Luton Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Looked After Children Team. This is a rewarding role focused on supporting children in care, promoting stability, and ensuring positive outcomes through effective care planning and relationship-based practice. You will manage a caseload of Looked After Children, working closely with carers, families, and partner agencies to ensure children receive the support they need to thrive and achieve permanence. In this role, you will: Manage a caseload of Looked After Children Undertake statutory visits and maintain meaningful relationships with children and young people Develop, implement, and review care plans and permanence plans Support children through long-term fostering, Special Guardianship, reunification, and adoption planning where appropriate Attend and contribute to Looked After Child Reviews and professional meetings Work closely with foster carers, residential providers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies Progress care planning and court-related work where required Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and care planning documentation Maintain accurate and timely case recordings What You ll Need: Social Work England Registration Social Work Qualification At least 3 years post-qualified experience in children s social care Experience within a Looked After Children service Strong knowledge of care planning and permanence planning ..... full job details .....
