About the Role
Northamptonshire Children''s Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team based in Corby.This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and families, ensuring children are protected from harm and supported to achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, managing risk, and delivering effective interventions that place the child''s wellbeing and lived experience at the centre of practice.Working within a supportive multi-agency environment, you will collaborate with professionals across health, education, police, and partner agencies to safeguard children and provide long-term stability for families.
Location: Gainsborough Road Resource Centre, School Place, Corby, NN18 0QP
Pay Rate: -38 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Minimum 3 days per week in the officeKey Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risk, need, and vulnerability.
- Develop, implement, and review effective intervention and safeguarding plans.
- Manage and reduce risk through timely safeguarding actions and care planning.
- Provide support, guidance, and advocacy to children and families.
- Ensure the child''s voice is central to all assessments and decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, including health, education, police, and safeguarding partners.
- Monitor child welfare and progress, ensuring statutory duties are met.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings, reports, and assessments.
- Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, core groups, and court proceedings where required.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and long-term stability of children and young people.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and local authority policies.
- Qualified Social Worker status and Social Work England registration.
- Experience within Children''s Safeguarding, Child Protection, CIN, Assessment, or Family Support teams.
- Strong assessment and risk management skills.
- Experience managing complex caseloads within Children''s Services.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working effectively within multi-agency environments.
- Confidence in making informed decisions that achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- A child-centred approach and commitment to high-quality social work practice.
