Social Value Officer
Salary - -32,00038,000 dependent on experience plus Veolia benefits.
Location - Working across the South London contracts of Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton
Hours - 40 hours per week, standard hours are 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday

The team do occasionally work from home, but as this role is engagement focused it is best suited to someone who is based locally and keen to work within Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton, and at our depots in the borough.

What you''ll be doing:
In the Social Value Officer position you will work closely with the Local ECO Managers and ECO Officers to develop and deliver social value projects. This will include career workshops, work experience, apprenticeship and employment programmes to support local students, residents and vulnerable groups to find meaningful careers. You will also research and coordinate volunteer activities for residents, and support the delivery of our national community funds and local spend initiatives. We are looking for an energetic all rounder with exemplary people and communication skills, and proven expertise in measuring and reporting data.
- Manage and report on the social value function of the contracts and lead on the design and delivery of specific projects to achieve contractual commitments.
- Work as part of the Education, Communications and Outreach (ECO) team, supporting national and local behaviour change campaigns to support staff wellbeing, improve recycling rates and build more resilient local communities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and community partners, coordinating stakeholder teams to deliver project work.
- Identify contract good news stories and feed to the regional External Engagement team.
- Maintain a network across the UK ECO team to identify opportunities for innovation. and process improvement and lead on the implementation locally where relevant.
- Keep abreast of industry developments.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
- Experience in project development and management, contributing to and executing strategic plans to achieve objectives
- Excellent data management and reporting
- Experience working with agencies and external organisations to deliver partnership projects
- Experience delivering community engagement and behaviour change activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
- Budget management
Desirable:
- Experience delivering and reporting on social value initiatives using Thrive or TOMs framework
- Experience of supporting vulnerable groups
- Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising and digital communications
- Understanding or experience working with local authorities
- Experience of visual and textual content production across multiple formats
- A full clean UK driving licence
