Founded in 2016 by Grammy award-winning songwriter, Carla Marie Williams, Girls I Rate are a non-profit organisation striving to celebrate, empower and advocate for girls and young women in the music and other creative industries. We push for female representation, recognition and gender equality.
Who We Need
We are looking for a part-time (hours and pay TBC), experienced Social Media Manager to help lead in the development and upkeep of a strong and energetic online presence. With an audience of mostly 16-30 year old black women, the role of Social Media Manager is an important one as this is the main point of communication with our community.
The right candidate will have knowledge across all social media platforms and can also generate exciting and strong ideas for both social media and brand strategy to drive online growth. This is an exciting and immersive role for someone who is both creative and results driven. Experience You’ll Need
Proficient using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mixcloud, Spotify, TikTok and YouTubeStrong admin ability with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox and Mailchimp, Canva and Photoshop.Experience in producing impactful organic and paid social media strategiesExperience in growing a brands online presenceExperience in identifying new trends and producing new ideas for contentExperience in producing 360 social media and campaign reportsAble to work both independently and as part of a team.A good understanding of the female music scene, particularly across black dominated genres such as hip hop, drill, afro beats, randb, dancehall etc. Furthermore, a good understanding of black culture.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Create monthly newsletters using MailchimpCreate monthly/weekly social media plans for Instagram and key channelsCreate a content breakdown for management to overseeApprove social media content for the rest of the teamWrite caption copy in line with our brand tone of voiceSchedule content and upload to storiesSetup effective social media advertsCreate monthly reports and stats for managementProvide feedback to DJ’s on their radio and YouTube music selectionsUtilize templates to create graphics for our YouTube and RadioBring new ideas to the table – build a successful social media strategy
