Social Care Finance Officer Primarily Home-Based (1 day per month in the office)

Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract

Fox Morris Group are delighted to be working with Bath & North East Somerset Council to recruit an experienced Social Care Finance Officer to join their Adult Social Care Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Adult Social Care financial assessments who is looking for a predominantly remote role within a supportive Local Authority.

About the Role

As a Social Care Finance Officer, you will be responsible for assessing the financial circumstances of service users and calculating their contributions towards the cost of their care in line with national legislation and local authority policies.

You''ll work closely with service users, families, care providers and social care colleagues, providing clear advice and guidance while ensuring assessments are accurate, compliant and delivered with empathy.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete financial assessments for Adult Social Care service users.
• Assess income, savings and assets to calculate care contributions in line with legislation and local charging policies.
• Communicate assessment outcomes clearly to service users, families and care providers.
• Provide advice on care charges, financial support and available benefits.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures.
• Escalate complex cases where appropriate.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service while handling sensitive financial information.

Essential Requirements

• Experience carrying out Adult Social Care financial assessments.
• Strong understanding of financial assessment processes and charging regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• Experience using ControCC and Liquidlogic is highly desirable.
