SMT Technician

Role: SMT TechnicianLocation: Stevenage Salary: Competitive DOEOverview We are currently seeking an experienced SMT Technician to join a growing electronics manufacturing business. This is a technical, hands-on role where you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimising SMT production lines, supporting new product introduction (NPI), and ensuring high-quality standards are consistently achieved. You will play a key role in driving process improvements and supporting the wider SMT team in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment (pick and place, printers, reflow ovens)Create and optimise SMT programs for new and existing productsCarry out line changeovers, calibration, and basic maintenancePerform first-off inspections and ensure work meets IPC-A-610 standardsIdentify and resolve quality issues such as misplacements or solder defectsMaintain accurate production and quality documentationSupport NPI activities, including reflow profiling and process setupImplement engineering changes (ECNs) and maintain program controlAssist with process improvements and support/training of operatorsEnsure compliance with quality, health and safety, and ESD proceduresSkills and ExperienceEssential:3-5 years'' experience in an SMT Technician or similar technical roleStrong understanding of SMT processes and electronics assemblyExperience with SMT equipmentKnowledge of reflow profiling and soldering processesAbility to ..... full job details .....
