Hours: Monday-Friday, Full time (Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4:30pm & Fri 7:30am-12:30pm)
Salary: £12.71 - £14.50 per hour (DOE)

Our Baldock-based client is looking for an enthusiastic, technically minded individual with a great eye for detail to join their close-knit team as an SMT Technician.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful, long-established family business that really invests in its people. No previous electronics experience is needed, as full training and ongoing support will be provided, helping you develop valuable technical skills and gain recognised qualifications as you progress.
 
Working within a friendly and supportive production team, you''ll learn to set up, program and operate high-tech machinery, as well as gaining experience across inspection, quality control and the wider SMT process.
 
With excellent training, genuine scope for progression and plenty of variety, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within the engineering and manufacturing sector.
 
Key responsibilities as a SMT Technician:

• Set up, program and operate Mycronic pick-and-place machinery
• Prepare components, materials and documentation for production jobs
• Support solder paste printing, placement and reflow processes
• Complete quality checks and inspections to ensure a high standard of work
• Carry out machine changeovers between production jobs
• Complete routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance
• Follow ESD, quality and safety procedures
• Work closely with the wider production team to meet deadlines and maintain quality

 
What we''re looking for:

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Technically/mechanically minded with an interest in how things work
• Comfortable using computers and basic systems (Excel & Windows)
• Good numeracy, organisation and manual dexterity
• A logical approach to problem-solving
• Reliable, punctual and keen to learn
• A positive team player with good communication skills
• Previous manufacturing, engineering or electronics experience (desirable)
• Engineering or electronics qualification e.g. BTEC, NVQ, apprenticeship (desirable)
