Smoke Ventilation Design Engineer
A specialist contractor is recruiting a Smoke Ventilation Design Engineer to support the growth of its smoke control division. The role combines design and estimating for mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems across residential and mixed-use developments, from Gateway 2 submissions through to project delivery. You will develop corridor ventilation, smoke shaft, stair pressurisation and AOV solutions, interpreting fire strategies and CFD reports to produce drawings, equipment selections and technical proposals. Requirements- Proven smoke ventilation design experience, including mechanical smoke extract, smoke shafts and corridor ventilation.- Confident interpreting fire strategies, architectural drawings, CFD outputs and fire engineering reports.- Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.- Experience preparing estimates, quotations, material take-offs and equipment schedules.- Working knowledge of relevant BS 7346 and BS EN 12101 standards, BS 9991 and Approved Document B.- Clear technical communication with consultants, contractors and internal project teams.- Gateway 2, high-rise residential, cause-and-effect and fire alarm integration experience advantageous.- Commutable to Upminster for an office-based position.Package- 55,000 - 65,000 - Office-based role in Essex with occasional site visits- Opportunity to work on large and technically complex residential developments- Ongoing training and professional development- Pension scheme- Long-term career ..... full job details .....
