Small Works Manager

The Client Our client is an established construction and facilities management contractor based in the Chelmsford area, providing reactive maintenance, planned works, refurbishment and building services across Essex and the surrounding counties. With a growing portfolio of commercial and public sector clients, they are looking to strengthen their Small Works and FM operation with the appointment of an experienced Manager. The Role This is a fast-paced operational role responsible for coordinating a high volume of reactive maintenance, planned works and smaller construction projects. You will take responsibility for jobs from initial instruction through survey, quotation and resource planning to delivery, completion and client sign-off. The role requires someone with strong practical construction knowledge who can quickly assess requirements, allocate labour and subcontractors, arrange materials and plant, and ensure multiple jobs continue moving simultaneously. You''ll be a key point of contact for clients and site teams, so strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
