Shape Your Career with an Independent, Modern Practice that Champions Work–Life Balance. At Edhen Vets, we understand the importance of flexibility, career development, and a supportive team environment. We are proud to be the only practice in the South West to hold Flexee accreditation, underscoring our genuine commitment to promoting a healthy work–life balance for our team.About Edhen Vets

Edhen Vets is an independent, small animal practice founded in Truro in 2021. Since then, we have grown steadily, opening a second clinic in Newquay in 2023. Our team now includes 7 vets, 7 RVNs, 3 SVNs, and a dedicated group of client care advisors. Together, we are united by our focus on clinical excellence, collaborative teamwork, and a shared passion for animal welfare. Our clinicians bring between 5 and 10 years of experience, each with their own areas of expertise. We benefit from visiting specialists, enabling us to keep many advanced cases in-house.As a relatively young and growing practice, we are continually evolving and supporting our team to pursue their professional ambitions. Whether it’s CPD, certificates, or investment in new equipment, we are committed to helping our colleagues thrive. Most of our team is undertaking further study, and we regularly attend the London Vet Show as a group. We also support animal charities abroad through the Edhen Welfare Foundation, which contributes to neutering projects and the establishment of veterinary clinics in developing countries. In terms of facilities, we are well equipped with DR X-ray, ultrasound, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, and advanced tools such as laparoscopy, DR dental X-ray, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy. What our team says about us

“I joined Edhen near the beginning of their journey 4 years ago, and fell in love with being a practising vet again. We have full autonomy over our cases. No targets bar clinical excellence and providing the best client and animal care possible. The practice approach to a flexible working role means I have been able to adapt my career to family life. We are a really close-knit and nurturing team, fostering a culture where ideas, suggestions and new titbits from recent CPD are actively encouraged. And the socials are brilliant!”Lois MRCVS“Edhen is a workplace that genuinely supports learning and development, with an open-minded approach to new ideas and ways of working. Leadership truly wants you to be happy in your role and values you as a person, not just an employee. It is a flexible and accommodating environment, with staff wellbeing and job satisfaction at its core. My work is varied and engaging - I consistently feel challenged in the best way and am fully supported to grow and thrive as a nurse”The team is genuinely lovely, supportive and brings a wealth of experience that we are all happy to share with one another. There is a strong team spirit, both professionally and socially, with great team events that make it an enjoyable and connected place to work.”

Sarah, RVN“I could sing lyrically about how amazing Edhen is all day long, about its core values, what we stand for and how passionately our founder Rachel feels about her business and the clients that we care for 365 days of the year. Only recently, was I telling the people we met on holiday that I was blessed with having the best job, working with the best people. I’m excited to see what the next year brings at Team Edhen.”Martine, Client Care“I have been working as a 2nd year student nurse at Edhen since December. The team were so lovely and welcoming straight away! I have found it is an ideal practice for a student to thrive in, as there is usually so much going on and lots of experience to gain. Each staff member is encouraged to follow their passions and given extra support in areas where they don''t feel as confident.”“Everyone here takes their role seriously and will go above and beyond for the animals, clients and colleagues, but can also have a laugh and enjoy socials outside of work. The flexibility of the practice means that each employee has a weekly rota that they are happy with. This is so rare to find! Everyone''s needs really are met as much as possible.”Sophie, SVN“Everyone at Edhen gets along so well, we are all very like-minded people - we genuinely care about our clients and their pets so much, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously! Working alongside friends makes life at a busy practice so much more fun and simple. We’re all there for each other. There is no hierarchy between job roles. Everyone is equal and treated the same. I honestly feel so appreciated for the work I put in at Edhen. When the effort you put in is acknowledged, it encourages you to keep putting in that 100% - this shows across the team.”Edhen is full of opportunities; I’ve done around four courses since working here. Leadership encourages growth and provides resources to fulfil new ideas.

Caitlin, Client CareThe Opportunity

As we continue to expand, we are keen to welcome a new colleague who will grow alongside us. This role presents an excellent opportunity to explore your professional interests while helping to shape the future of our services. Ideally, we are seeking an experienced vet with a medical bias or a medicine certificate holder to further strengthen our clinical offering. You will be supported by engaged, approachable directors who work alongside you, as well as a highly capable nursing team with a strong interest in medicine. That said, if medicine is not your primary focus but our ethos and way of working resonate with you, we would still be delighted to hear from you.Flexibility in Action

At Edhen Vets, flexible working is more than a policy—it is part of our culture. Each of our vets has an individually tailored rota designed around their lifestyle and commitments, and we remain the only South West practice accredited by Flexee. Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time hours, half days, or other arrangements, we are happy to discuss what works best for you.We would particularly value someone willing to contribute to our out-of-hours rota, which is designed to be both manageable and rewarding. The team shares the workload, and you can choose between whole or split weekends. On-call duties are optional and compensated, with most colleagues committing to one night per week. Our Culture

We believe a positive workplace extends beyond clinical work. At Edhen Vets, we value mutual respect, genuine support, and maintaining a sense of enjoyment in what we do. The team benefits from weekly deliveries of healthy snack boxes, and we prioritise regular social events—our Christmas party, summer celebration, and annual trip to the CVA Ball are much-anticipated highlights. These occasions strengthen our team spirit and sense of belonging. What We Offer
