Role: CNC Sliding Head Machinist

Salary: Up to -40,000 depending on experience

Location: Bristol

We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment in Bristol. The company specialises in the manufacture of high-precision components for demanding industries, where quality, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

As a CNC Sliding Head Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating sliding head CNC machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Setting and operating CNC sliding head machines
• Producing small, complex and high-precision components
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Selecting and setting tooling
• Carrying out tool changes and offsets
• Inspecting components using a range of measuring equipment
• Making adjustments to ensure components meet drawing specifications
• Working to tight tolerances and maintaining consistent quality
• Completing relevant production and quality documentation
• Working closely with colleagues across production and quality

Skills and experience:

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machinery
• Experience working from engineering drawings
• Good knowledge of cutting tools, tooling and offsets
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
• A strong understanding of CNC machining processes
• Excellent attention to detail
• A methodical approach to quality and production
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
