The School:
Supply Desk is pleased to be working with aandnbsp;well-regardedandnbsp;school in theandnbsp;Beaconsfield area that prides itself on providing aandnbsp;nurturingandnbsp;andandnbsp;inclusive environmentandnbsp;for children, allowing them to succeed to the best of their ability no matter whatandnbsp;challengesandnbsp;they may face. The school is looking for support with its students and is seeking anandnbsp;excellent support staff memberandnbsp;who hasandnbsp;experience/qualificationsandnbsp;withandnbsp;SLD students.
The student may need support with:
andbull; Understandingandnbsp;instructionsandnbsp;and the requirements of tasks
andbull; Acquiringandnbsp;sequencing skillsandnbsp;andminus; for example, when following a recipe or science experiment
andbull; Understanding how they affect and relate to theirandnbsp;immediate surroundings
andbull;andnbsp;Personal organisationandnbsp;over the short, medium and long term
andbull;andnbsp;Visual and auditory memoryandnbsp;for information, processes and instructions
The role will require the following responsibilities:
andbull; Supportingandnbsp;SEN studentsandnbsp;withandnbsp;reading, writing and numeracy
andbull; Providing students aandnbsp;positive learning atmosphere
andbull; Managingandnbsp;challenging behaviourandnbsp;in support of the class teacher
andbull; Collaborating with the teacher and assisting withandnbsp;creating and delivering activities
andbull;andnbsp;Recording studentsandrsquo; progressandnbsp;and feeding back to the teacher
andbull;andnbsp;Tutoringandnbsp;on aandnbsp;1:1 or small group basis
The ideal candidate will have / be:
andbull; Previous experience withandnbsp;SENandnbsp;or a desire to work with children with SEN
andbull; Good knowledge ofandnbsp;SENandnbsp;and aandnbsp;passion to develop
andbull; Able to manageandnbsp;challenging behaviour
andbull; Able to commit to working fixed days andndash; full or part time
andbull; Has aandnbsp;clear and valid DBSandnbsp;on the update service or willing to obtain one
andbull; Have relevantandnbsp;trainingandnbsp;to support students withandnbsp;learning difficulties
