You''ll be joining an experienced production team working on Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Life Support Systems, manufacturing components and assemblies that form part of sophisticated aerospace equipment.

What will you be doing?

As a Skilled Mechanical Coil Winder, you will be responsible for the accurate manufacture, assembly and testing of aerospace components, working from engineering drawings, specifications and detailed manufacturing instructions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manufacturing electrical coils and windings accurately and efficiently.
• Carrying out mechanical fitting and testing of Environmental Control and Life Support Systems equipment.
• Working from engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Completing Operator Control of Quality (OCQ) activities and confirming work meets required standards.
• Ensuring products are manufactured right first time, safely and to the required quality.
• Working to production schedules and supporting on-time delivery.
• Identifying and escalating any quality or manufacturing issues.
• Working closely with Designers, Engineers and Team Leaders.
• Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Maintaining excellent standards of Health & Safety throughout the manufacturing process.

What we''re looking for

You don''t necessarily need previous aerospace experience.

We''re interested in hearing from candidates with a strong mechanical, manufacturing or engineering background, particularly those who have experience with hands-on assembly, fitting, winding or similar precision manufacturing processes.

You''ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
• Experience of mechanical fitting, coil winding or similar precision work.
• The ability to confidently read and follow engineering drawings and instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
• The ability to work accurately to deadlines and production targets.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic PC literacy.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn new skills.

An Engineering Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification would be advantageous, but it is not essential.

Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet the requirements of applicable Export Control Licences and Technical Assistance Agreements.

The role is also subject to successful completion of mandatory BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) screening, including:

• UK Criminal Records / DBS check
• Drug screening
