Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist
Pertemps are currently seeking a Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist to join our well-established client based in Stoke-on-Trent. This role offers a great opportunity to work on a range of mechanical engineering projects, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems across industrial and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities of this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:
- Operation of CNC machines and manual machines including vertical borers, mills, and lathes
- Setting and operating machinery to produce high-precision mechanical components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Carrying out routine maintenance and basic fault diagnosis on machinery
- Assisting with installation and servicing of mechanical systems in industrial and commercial settings
- Always adhering to health and safety procedures
- Working closely with the wider engineering and maintenance team
- Previous experience as a machinist, CNC operator, or similar role within a mechanical engineering environment
- Skilled in using vertical borers, milling machines, and other machine shop equipment
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles and systems
- Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and fault-finding
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
