This in-hand arable enterprise, based at Alnwick is approximately 1900 hectares, with cropping that includes winter wheat and barley, oilseed rape and spring cereals alongside a beef finishing unit. Farming and conservation work hand in hand throughout the estate, which is entered into conservation schemes such as Mid-tier stewardship and Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI). Additionally, there is a grey partridge conservation project on a large area of the farm. The farm makes use of modern technology by utilising GPS systems to ensure operational accuracy, yield and soil mapping are used to assist in the accurate application of seed, lime and fertiliser. The role The main responsibilities will include operating Case tractors, Horsch drills and Amazone fertiliser spreader as well as relief spraying of an Agrifac or Horsch trailed sprayer.
