Surfacing Supervisor

Red Sky Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading surfacing contractor

Red Sky Personnel are working with a well-established contractor delivering high-quality asphalt surfacing and highways works across London and the South East.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to bring on an experienced Asphalt Surfacing Supervisor to support projects across the Surrey and Middlesex areas.

The Role

This is a hands-on supervisory position where you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations across multiple surfacing projects.

You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards, while coordinating teams, plant, and materials on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities across asphalt surfacing and roadworks
• Supervise direct labour and subcontractors on-site
• Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to meet programme deadlines
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, delivering toolbox talks and site briefings
• Carry out site inspections and maintain high-quality standards throughout
• Liaise with project managers, clients, and subcontractors
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and resolve on-site issues efficiently

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within asphalt surfacing or highways projects
• Strong knowledge of asphalt laying, roadworks, and surfacing operations
• Valid SMSTS or SSSTS
• CSCS card (essential)
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Desirable

• NRSWA (Supervisor)
• First Aid at Work
• Experience working on highways or local authority frameworks
