If you’re a multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias and fancy stepping into a role where you’ll have real ownership of the site services function, this could be worth a look.
We’re working with a well-established food manufacturer in Sheffield that is investing heavily in its people, its facilities and its site. They’re now looking for a Site Services Engineer to work closely with the Site Services Lead, helping to keep the wider site infrastructure running safely, reliably and efficiently.
What will you be doing?You’ll have a varied role covering the site’s utilities, facilities and engineering infrastructure. One day you could be fault-finding on a compressor, the next working on air handling equipment or supporting improvements to the site''s utilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and fault-finding on site services and utilities
Working on air handling and compressed air systems
Supporting the maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
Supporting facilities and infrastructure maintenance
Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and site performance
Working alongside the Site Services Lead on improvement projects and planned works
Supporting contractors and external engineers where required
Ensuring site services equipment is maintained safely and effectively
Helping to keep the site compliant with relevant safety and engineering standards
You’ll need to be a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias, ideally with experience working across utilities, facilities or site services within a manufacturing environment.
You don’t need to have worked in food manufacturing before — the key thing is having the right engineering fundamentals and being comfortable working across a varied site.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Electrically biased with good mechanical skills
Experienced in planned and reactive maintenance
Comfortable working on utilities and site infrastructure
Confident fault-finding and diagnosing problems
Practical, hands-on and happy getting stuck into a varied workload
Keen to develop their skills and take on additional responsibility
