About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Site Officer / Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Prestwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school site, ensuring the premises are opened and prepared each morning, safety checks are completed, and any maintenance issues are dealt with promptly.

This role would suit someone practical, organised, and confident working independently while also supporting the wider school team when needed.

Key Responsibilities

As a Site Officer / Caretaker, you will be expected to:

• Carry out key holder duties, including opening the school site each morning
• Complete daily water checks in line with health and safety procedures
• Undertake basic DIY, maintenance, and emergency repairs where required
• Carry out alarm checks and respond appropriately to site issues
• Maintain site security, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe and secure
• Support with general upkeep of the premises to a high standard
• Report any hazards, damages, or concerns promptly

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience in a caretaker, site officer, maintenance, or facilities role
• Good practical DIY and repair skills
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures
• The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• A reliable, flexible, and proactive attitude
• Good communication skills and a professional approach

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
• Be able to provide two professional references covering the last two years
