The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a rapidly growing, well-invested recycling and metals business to recruit a Non-Ferrous Site Manager for one of their key operational sites in the West Midlands.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will take full ownership of the non-ferrous department, overseeing all operational, commercial, and people aspects of the yard.

You''ll be responsible for ensuring materials are processed efficiently, graded accurately, and dispatched in line with business and customer expectations-while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all non-ferrous operations including intake, sorting, processing, and dispatch
• Accurately grade and value a wide range of materials including aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel, cables, and alloys
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, supporting commercial negotiations
• Manage stock levels, ensuring accuracy and efficient material flow
• Lead, develop, and motivate a team of yard operatives
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations

About You

We''re looking for an experienced professional who combines strong technical knowledge with leadership capability:

• Proven background in non-ferrous metals within scrap, recycling, or processing environments
• Strong understanding of grading standards and material value
• Experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational setting
• Confident decision-maker with a commercial mindset
• Solid understanding of H&S and environmental compliance

Desirable (not essential):

• Experience operating mobile plant (FLT, telehandler, material handler)
• Knowledge of cable processing (stripping/granulation)
• Familiarity with weighbridge or yard management systems
