We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to lead a major new build school development in the Canterbury area. Educational builds come with unique challenges, and we need a strong leader who can maintain a highly organized, safe, and efficient site.

A critical focus of this role will be the successful delivery of the substructure and external packages. We require a specialist who is highly proficient in managing everything from the ground up, with a heavy emphasis on groundworks, complex scaffolding setups, and external envelope delivery.

• Oversee daily operations on-site, ensuring the new build educational facility is delivered in line with program schedules and strict DFEs/local authority specifications.

• Act as the subject matter expert on-site for all external packages, directly managing subcontractors handling groundworks, civils, scaffolding, and external facades.

• Maintain rigorous health and safety standards, which is paramount given the educational nature and setting of the development.

• Manage, motivate, and coordinate sub-contractors and direct labor.

• Liaise closely with project managers, clients, and school stakeholders to ensure a smooth, disruption-free project delivery.

• New Build / Education Experience: A proven track record as a Site Manager delivering new build projects, ideally within the education, commercial, or public sectors.

• Externals Expertise: Strong, demonstrable experience managing major external works, specifically groundworks, civils, and scaffolding.

• Qualifications:

  • SMSTS

  • CSCS Black Card

  • First Aid at Work

• Local to Canterbury: Ideally based in Kent or within a reasonable, reliable commuting distance to Canterbury.
