Site Manager
Ivy Resource Group are working with a well-established main contractor to recruit an experienced Site Manager for a permanent role based in Swindon. You will be managing a range of commercial projects in their Major Works Department.

The Role:
- Manage the day-to-day running of construction sites and ensure work progresses according to programme.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and site operatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Plan and organise site activities, labour, materials and plant.
- Monitor progress against the construction programme and address delays or issues.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation, site rules and company procedures.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship, identifying and resolving defects.
- Liaise with project managers, quantity surveyors, architects, engineers, clients and consultants.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
- Manage deliveries and ensure materials and equipment are available when needed.
- Keep accurate site records, reports, diaries and progress updates.
- Deal with site problems and unexpected issues, finding practical solutions.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work is completed to specification.
- Help coordinate commissioning, snagging and handover when the project is nearing completion.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced Site Manager with a strong background in construction and major projects.
- Has experience managing large or complex construction projects from start to completion.
- Strong leadership skills, able to manage subcontractors, trades and site teams effectively.
- Takes ownership and responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety, including RAMS, inductions, toolbox talks and site inspections.
- Able to keep projects on programme, within budget and to a high standard of quality.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of costs and site records.
- Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, particularly when coordinating multiple trades and activities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and colleagues.
- Problem-solver who can make practical decisions when issues arise on site.
- High attention to quality and detail.
- Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Proactive, reliable and professional in their approach.
Salary & Package:
-50,000 - -70,000 per annum
