Site Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a well-established main contractor delivering projects across Leicester and the wider East Midlands region. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable business that has a strong pipeline of projects across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site activities from commencement through to completion.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site labour to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Ensure works are completed in line with project programmes, specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety inspections.
• Monitor progress and resolve any site issues to minimise delays.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and senior management teams.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
• Drive quality standards and ensure client expectations are met.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor.
• Experience delivering commercial, industrial, education, healthcare or mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and health & safety legislation.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and workstreams simultaneously.
• Valid SMSTS certification.
• Valid CSCS card (Black or White preferred).
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience managing projects valued between -1m and -20m+.
• Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor certification.
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Experience managing projects from groundworks through to handover.
