We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in groundworks and utilities to oversee a high-security infrastructure project in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, technically complex package of works with a subcontractor delivering civils and below-ground utilities on a major site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily management of site activities, subcontractors, and workforce

• Ensuring works are carried out to specification, programme, and health & safety requirements

• Coordinating groundworks and utility installation (ducting, drainage, service diversions, etc.)

• Chairing site meetings and liaising with engineers, supervisors, and the delivery team

• Ensuring accurate site records, RAMS, and permits are in place

• Reporting progress and escalating issues to the Project Manager as needed

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager in groundworks and utilities (ideally on secure or sensitive sites)

• CSCS Black Card and SMSTS required

• Strong understanding of civil engineering and utility coordination

• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively under programme pressure

• BPSS clearance is desirable, but not essential — the client is prepared to initiate checks for the right candidate
