Site Manager

A leading specialist contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to deliver a portfolio of roofing and waterproofing projects within the rail sector. Working across the UK, this role involves off-track projects, and would suit a hands-on manager with strong technical knowledge and a willingness to travel.
The company is well-established in the external works and building envelope space, delivering complex projects to clients in transport, infrastructure, and construction sectors. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered for projects away from home.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the delivery of roofing and waterproofing works on live rail and infrastructure projects
Manage site teams, subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and internal delivery teams
Ensure compliance with rail safety protocols and site-specific requirements
Coordinate materials, plant, and site logistics
Maintain accurate records and site reporting
Work on both heritage/older roof structures and modern systems/materials
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Site Manager on roofing and/or waterproofing projects
Experience working in the rail sector, including on-track and off-track environments
Strong understanding of traditional and modern roofing systems, materials, and detailing
Ability to manage teams across multiple live sites with a strong focus on HSEQ compliance
PTS (Personal Track Safety) card required - or willingness to acquire it (support provided)
Willingness to travel and stay away as required (accommodation and travel covered)
