The Company
A reputable and well established Design and Build fit out contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the commercial sector is seeking an experienced No.1 Site Manager to lead a fast paced fit out project in Chelmsford.

The Role
You will take full responsibility as the No.1 Site Manager on a c.-500k fit out scheme, delivering the project from site setup through to completion within a 5 week programme. This is a hands on role requiring strong leadership, organisation and the ability to drive trades to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day to day site operations and manage the full site team
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards
• Maintain and enforce health and safety procedures and site compliance
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety inspections
• Monitor programme progress and proactively address delays or issues
• Liaise with clients, consultants and internal project teams
• Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits and progress reports
• Ensure quality control and snagging processes are carried out effectively
• Oversee logistics, materials and site organisation
• Drive a clean, efficient and well run site environment

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Number 1 Site Manager on fit out projects
• Strong track record delivering fast track commercial fit outs
• SMSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid certifications essential
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong organisational and problem solving abilities
