Location: Elgin, Moray Contract: 12 months Rate: £30–£33 per hour

Freelance Site Manager – £16m Construction Project

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a major £16m construction project in Elgin on an initial 12-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong background in managing complex construction projects, coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.

The Project

The project involves a major refurbishment and extension, incorporating a wide range of internal, external and specialist construction works. These include a two-storey extension, new studio and reception areas, two auditoriums, specialist ventilation systems, curtain walling, internal fit-out and external landscaping.

The Role

Reporting to the wider project management team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring works progress efficiently and in line with the construction programme.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating subcontractors, trades and site personnel.

• Planning and sequencing works to maintain programme deadlines.

• Monitoring progress and identifying potential delays.

• Coordinating specialist installations and multiple work packages.

• Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the site.

• Ensuring works meet the required quality standards and specifications.

• Managing site logistics, deliveries and resources.

• Liaising with the project management team, client and subcontractors.

• Maintaining accurate site records and overseeing snagging and completion works.

About You

To be considered, you should have:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale or complex construction projects.

• Experience managing multiple trades and specialist subcontractors.

• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, programme management and site logistics.

• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

• SMSTS certification.

• Relevant CSCS card.

• First Aid qualification.

• A full UK driving licence.

Experience delivering commercial, public-sector or high-specification refurbishment and extension projects would be advantageous.
